„Disintegration“ ist das achte Studioalbum und das düstere Meisterstück von The Cure, welches im Jahre 1989 erschienen ist. Es ist der Nachfolger des 1987 veröffentlichten herausragenden Albums „Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me” und mit Hits wie “Lullaby”, “Fascination Street“, “Lovesong” und “Pictures Of You” das bisher erfolgreichste Album der Band. Es verkaufte sich weltweit über 3 Millionen Mal, zudem spielten The Cure ausverkaufte Tourneen rund um den Globus.
